Preparing interior and cover files for upload

Interior files

POD printers (POD means Print On Demand) generally provide a spec for how they want files prepared. What we are doing, essentially, is making a digital file that will go directly into their printing machine without any fiddling. The POD printer will make sure any file you upload meets their spec. If it doesn’t, you will have to fix it, and you may incur another upload fee.

Providing the properly formatted file is part of our book design service. If you already have an interior book design and just need it converted into the correct format for the printer, we can do that too.

Cover files

POD printers also provide a spec, and often a template, for your book cover. When we do the cover design, we use the template provided by the printer.

What will it cost?

We can do most file preparation for as little as $100. If your file is cranky, it may be a little more. If all goes swimmingly and we get it done in an hour or less, you get $50 back.
