So here's how it works

You fill out our form, giving us as much information as you can about your book.

We will respond with an estimate and instructions on how to upload your file.

You pay us a deposit of $50. You can pay us online through PayPal (you don't need a PayPal account) or you can send us a check.

We create your ebook and send it to you for proofreading.

You check the file over, proofread it if necessary, note any file conversion errors, and let us know where and what they are.

We fix the conversion errors and send you the revised ebook.

Once you're happy with the ebook, you pay the balance on your account.

If you later discover more conversion errors, we will fix those for free and send you a new file.

You, the author/publisher, will need to upload the ebook files to your distributor's website. The distributor will provide instructions that are usually adequate, but if you run into trouble, let us know, and we'll try to help. We've done all this before.

A note about proofreading

We do offer copyediting and proofreading services, but they're time-consuming and therefore costly, so we encourage you to do the proofreading if at all possible.

Special problems

If your book was originally scanned from an actual book and converted to a pdf, there's a chance that your pdf consists of a series of images. If that is the case, we will need to run your file through an OCR (optical character recognition) program to convert the images to text. OCR gives a good approximation of the text but it often introduces errors that can only be found by thorough proofreading. For instance, an o may become an e or an a. The letter l may convert to the number 1. We try to find most of the errors using spellcheck, but we encourage you to proofread your book to find the ones we miss.
