Kindle Wizards converts books to the Kindle format. The Kindle Wizards site has some excellent examples of ways that ebooks formatting can go wrong. The examples are worth a look.

Joshua Tallent has written an excellent book on formatting ebooks for Kindle. The paperback is $19.95 and is available from Amazon.com. The ebook is available in Kindle format for $9.99.

Elizabeth Castro’s book, EPUB, Straight to the Point

Elizabeth Castro has written an excellent book on creating ebooks in the epub format for the iPad and other ereaders. It does get a bit technical but don’t let the code intimidate you. She gives step-by-step instructions on creating ebooks from MS Word files or from InDesign, and there’s also plenty of information about formatting techniques, to get the design look you want.
